Paul’s Letters and Jewish-Christian Dialogue

Union Theological Seminary and The Center for Christian-Jewish Understanding at Sacred Heart University in New York presents “Ron Miller, Ph.D., The Sacred Writings of Paul.” Ron’s presentation was titled “Paul’s Letters and Jewish-Christian Dialogue” with an audience of Jewish and Christian scholars. All the participants were given a copy of Ron’s book “The Sacred Writings Of Paul” several weeks before the program date.

Filmed on May 3, 2011 in New York City. This was Ron’s final talk.

  1. Paraphrased Ron’s quote (not as hedonistic as it might seem @ first blush, per Ron’s follow-up explanation) by his prof @ NU from the Palestinian Talmud (“You will be called to account on the Day of Judgment for all the pleasures of this world that you did not enjoy.”) in response to my sister’s e-mail to me and others in our family, “I have had the most amazing array of birds at my feeders this spring. I couldn’t resist sharing a few photos with you. This is the reason I’ve gotten nothing done this spring.” Her pics were professional-looking close-ups that thrilled us — so much for “self-flagellating guilt” re taking the time to commune w/and appreciate “Mother Nature” up close and personal! 🙂 Lots of “food for thought” in this lecture discussion. And as always, Ron’s understated “delivery” was captivating — like a “Pied Piper” of spirituality!

  2. I did not learn about Ron until recently. Thank you so much for continuing to post his teachings. I have been searching for direction in my spiritual life. Hearing him speak fills me with hope! I am a former Catholic, educated in parochial schools, who long ago realized that much of what I was taught either did not make sense or left out the some of the truth. When you feel that you must deny who you or be saved from yourself in order to be a good person, it leads to depression or even worse, despair. Hearing Ron speak is such an inspiration. I regret never having had the opportunity to meet him in person but I am thankful to be able to see and hear him share his experiences and words of wisdom.
